Sachin Tendulkar, the man who carried the wishes of a billion Indians for many years, turns 50 today, 24 April 2023. Born in 1973, Sachin Tendulkar started playing cricket at an early age and carried on his good form and fortune for a little over two decades. In the long (but fulfilling) journey, the master blaster, also nicknamed the little master, achieved many milestones for the country and also for himself. Standing with 100 centuries in international cricket, and being the only cricketer to do so, Sachin enjoyed massive fanfare all his career. The chants of Sachin-Sachin still reverberate in the minds of those who were ardent pursuers of cricket in the 90s and the first decade of the 21st century. Be it on Indian grounds or overseas, the master batsman enjoyed crowd support and respect everywhere he went to play.
Today, as Sachin Tendulkar turns 50, and a proud father who is seeing his only son making inroads in the world of cricket with the IPL debut this year, Sachin could wish for nothing more. It seems from the outside. He has batted and bowled for many years. Now retired, Sachin always advocated for the growth of sports and sporting culture in the country. Sachin’s immense popularity can be guessed by the fact that a few spectators followed him even in his days of early schooling career. Sachin’s batting has impressed the legends of cricket, and other sports as well.
These days, people are also discussing the career of his only son Arjun Tendulkar. Arjun is a left-arm fast bowler who made his debut on 16 April 2023 in the TATA IPL 2023. He played the game for Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders team. His debut was impressive as he impressed the audience with his bowling. He played two more games. However, the left-arm pacer did not get a chance to swing his bats yet. As a fan of cricket and as an admirer of the legend Sachin Tendulkar, along with many other cricket fans, I am also waiting to see the son of the Master Blaster bat in this IPL campaign.
Sachin’s birthday was made special by the team of Mumbai Indians with a special cake. On-field celebrations and wishes on social media platforms made the memorable for little master. Now standing at the half-century of his life, perhaps the most special of his career, Sachin wished to continue being the champion of the cause of sports. Discussing with Ravi Shastri, another legend of the game, and former Indian national cricket coach, Sachin revealed his plans and also confessed that the fifty of his life is the most special for him!
